Adventist women in Mindanao complete leadership training
Graduating from four levels of WM Leadership Certification, 288 additional women become certified leaders.
Women in the North Central Mindanao territory of the South Philippines used the pandemic years to be equipped and empowered for gospel outreach by participating in Women’s Ministries Leadership Certification (WM LC) classes Levels 1 to 3.
On June 24, 2022, the women learned the remaining eight subjects for the WM LC Level IV classes to complete their training. On Sabbath all 288 participants marched as graduates in a formal yet festive ceremony held at the Manticao Mission Academy. In black graduation toga they received their GC Certificate of Completion, and Virginia Baloyo, the SSD WM director encouraged them to go and reach their world for Christ.
A commissioning ceremony was led by Shirley Bacus and Charlene Arellano, women's ministries directors in the South Philippine Union Conference and North Central Mindanao Conference (NCMC), respectively. They were assisted by 42 full-fledged WM leaders in NCMC—already certified WM LC graduates—who placed the pink graduation sash and WM pin on each graduate.
Quoting from Isaiah 6:8, Dr. Bacus asked, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
The new graduates quickly responded, "I Will Go."
