[Zimbabwe] Despite the current economic hardships facing the country of Zimbabwe, Mrs. Cecilia Mvumbi, former Women’s Ministries director of North Zimbabwe Conference, mobilized women in her territory to construct a church building in Mount Darwin District near Ruya Mission.

When Cecilia was not elected into the office the following term, Mrs. Chipo Mhandu, who believes in continuity, took over from where Cecilia left and encouraged the women to complete the project. When they organized a Women’s Ministries congress, a dollar from each woman’s registration fees went towards the building project.

Today, the church is near completion. In his speech, Pastor Utete, the pastor of Mount Darwin District, thanked the women for their hard work. He promised that once the ceiling board was complete, he would “hand the church over to the administration for dedication to the Lord.”
