[Peru] The first Sabbath of May 2021 will be remembered in the Seventh-day Adventist Church history of Northern Peru. More than 150,000 Adventists participated in the “Peru, I pray for you” campaign, within the “Sabbath of Prayer and Fasting” promoted by the South American Division. A special fast was held from sunset on Friday, with an emphasis on crying out for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and divine help in these difficult times.

For this reason, the Department of Women's Ministries in Peru mobilized thousands of ladies to intercede in prayer for people in their churches and in their local neighborhoods who are suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the sanitary protocols, these fervent women of prayer, together with the members of their local churches, went to the streets, squares, shopping malls and hospitals to pray with the people who were out visiting these places.

Also, in the afternoon and as part of the programmed activities, thousands of baskets with food and first necessity goods were delivered to families in great need. It was amazing to see how prayer and acts of solidarity marked the lives of thousands of people, who saw in these actions the caring love of Jesus Christ.
