Women's Ministries offers government leaders support in addressing challenges facing women.

President Wavel Ramkalawan and First Lady Linda Ramkalawan received representatives of the Seventh-day Adventist Church during a courtesy call at the State House in Victoria, Mahe, the capital city of the Seychelles, an archipelago of about 100 islands in the Indian Ocean. Three of the visitors were Women's Ministries leaders: General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Women's Ministries (GC WM) Director Heather-Dawn Small, located in Maryland, USA; Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division WM Director Margery Herinirina, located in Johannesburg, South Africa; and the Seychelles Mission WM Director Sabrina Watts. Also accompanying them were Seychelles Mission Finance Director Hugh Watts and Communications Director Nathalie Edmond.

This meeting was an opportunity to brief the President and the First Lady on the purpose of the GC WM director’s visit to Seychelles. The discussion with the president about women in society and the challenges they face was very informative and fruitful. The president is quite concerned about the current situation and was eager to know what the Seventh-day Adventist Church's worldwide women’s ministries is doing to empower women and strengthen their commitment in their homes. The Seventh-day Adventist Church representatives offered the president assistance in working with the government to address these issues.
