[Hungary] The The aim of the second national Hungarian Women’s Ministries conference as demonstrated by the theme, “Walking in His Footsteps,” was to nurture and revive our sisters, and to equip and empower them in their personal mission activities. held April 20-22, 2018. The 250 women of 31 congregations attending the conference, April 20-22, 2018, were hosted by the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Székely Bertalan Street, the largest Adventist church in Budapest.

Friday night, our guest speaker, Raquel Arrais, associate director of General Conference Women’s Ministries, presented Jesus and His intercessory work in an outstanding way, but which was also very personal and close to our hearts. It is encouraging to know that we can go to the intercessor in the sanctuary at any time because access is granted through Jesus Christ and nothing should prevent us from approaching from the throne room of God.

Sabbath morning, we first heard about the mission service done for women in Cuba. Later Arrais drew our attention to the work of the Holy Spirit. “We cannot be only half-filled with the Holy Spirit. We must be completely filled. The Holy Spirit can only fill a completely empty heart,” Arrais emphasized.

"What can we do for those who are lost? This question was discussed Sabbath afternoon. We also learned how we should serve, love and pray for those are no longer present in the church. The women attending the conference were nurtured individually through interactive stations based on Psalm 23.

Sunday, Arrais drew attention to the vision and mission of Women’s Ministries department and helped those present to understand the importance of this service we can give to the community of women surrounding our homes. Women were encouraged to go home with revived strength, renewed commitment, and refreshed empowerment for walking in the footsteps of Jesus.

We thank God for strengthening Raquel to bring us these important messages. Each presentation was vibrant and spectacular. From that love burning in her heart for Christ, she was able to sprinkle love on all the ladies who were present. We pray that God will bless her and her ministry in an extraordinary way.

The Department of Women’s Ministries in the Hungarian Union has great responsibilities to nurture and empower our women for working in Christ’s vineyard as a woman, and for sharing the good news of Jesus to women in our centers of influence, for as long as the time of grace lasts. This work can only be done through the help of the Holy Spirit and by walking daily in the footsteps of Jesus. Let’s go and start our work today!
