New Year's Message

Do You Have an Inspirational Word to Guide You 2022?

TRUST and REST are this year's words for GCWM Director Heather-Dawn Small.

Joyful greetings Sisters and blessings for the new year.

Each year I choose a word that is connected to my spiritual growth, and I focus on that word all through the year. Then I choose two Bible verses to go with the word. This year I chose two words—TRUST and REST.

TRUST—Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”

REST—Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

With all that has happened in the past two years, all the changes, emotional distress, personal and spiritual challenges, and much more, I need to remember these two words more than ever.

As you move forward into 2022 ask God to give you a word (or words) to give you spiritual focus for this new year. Then every week or month take some time to study your word, such as writing out additional Bible verses containing your word and praying the verse. Let us make a commitment to grow spiritually this year with the help of the Holy Spirit.
