[Zambia] For the first time, women’s ministries in East Zambia Field of the Southern Zambia Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists participated in the International Women’s Day of Prayer, March 3, 2018. Since 1990 this special day has been included in the worldwide church calendar on the first Sabbath in March to encourage full church member participation and to encourage women to lead the worship service and other events of the day.
Both men and women from the surrounding area churches, church elders, district pastors, the local field president of East Zambia Field, even the visiting members of the General Conference/Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division education team—the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges—worshipped together at the Crystal Springs Hotel in Chipata.
Beatrice Bondo, women’s ministries director for Southern Zambia Union Conference in Lusaka, was the guest preacher of the day.
The 2018 International Women’s Day of Prayer sermon and resource packet, God Understands, used in Chipata, is written by Chantal J. Klingbeil, associate director of the Ellen G. White Estate.
Walking with Jesus, the 2019 sermon and resource packet written by Cordell Liebrandt, a church pastor in the Cape Conference of South Africa, is already available. Download here
